Josh & Mikaela – School Formal Session

Josh and Mikaela’s formal session took place on a friend’s farm with breathtaking views over the surrounding bushland and hills. The peaceful, open setting gave us the perfect canvas for a session that was both stylish and deeply personal.

Mikaela looked absolutely stunning in a navy blue backless gown, complete with a dramatic cape that caught the breeze like something out of a movie. She paired it with long diamond earrings, a delicate matching necklace, and flawless makeup featuring a pop of glitter eyeshadow that brought just the right amount of fun and sparkle. Every detail was perfectly her.

Josh kept things sharp in navy dress pants, a white dress shirt dotted with navy polka dots, a matching navy tie, and a cream blazer that added the perfect contrast. The two of them together were pure elegance.

They arrived in style in a sporty red Holden Commodore, and were joined by their families to celebrate and mark this milestone. One of the lovely full-circle moments for me was photographing Josh’s sister, Jasmine, again - a few years ago, I captured her formal in 2015, and then her wedding to her husband, Josh, in 2017. It’s always such an honour to be welcomed back to document a family’s biggest chapters.

This session was such a joy. The light, the connection, the history - it all came together in such a meaningful way.
