This session will always hold a special place in my heart. Beth is not only one of my beautiful clients - she’s also my sister-in-law. This maternity shoot marked a deeply meaningful moment in her journey: celebrating the impending arrival of her rainbow baby, a little girl, after the heartbreak of loss.
We chose my favourite paddock location in Widgee for her session, and the sunset that evening could not have been more perfect. The golden light wrapped around Beth like a warm hug, and she absolutely radiated strength, grace, and joy. We also took a little detour to the nearby creek, where we captured some peaceful, earthy moments that felt so fitting for such a healing and hope-filled season.
At one point during the session, the sun began to set and rays of light streamed through the clouds in the most breathtaking way. The pattern they created looked just like a giant hand reaching down from the sky. It felt like the Hand of God, a quiet but powerful reminder that He had everything in the palm of His hand - even the moments of heartbreak, healing, and new life. It was a moment that brought both comfort and awe.
Just a few days after our session, Beth gave birth to her beautiful daughter - and I’m so grateful we were able to preserve that special time for her in photographs.
Beth shared this incredibly kind review with me afterward:
“Hannah has worked her magic on more than one session for myself and my little family. I am a repeat customer and would use her and her skills in a heartbeat again. I cherish the shoot she did with my wild rug rats as well as my maternity shoot that helped heal my broken heart after our precious rainbow. We love your work Hannah and your beautiful masterpieces will always take centre stage on our walls.”
Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do. It’s about more than just pretty pictures - it’s about freezing moments that matter, that heal, and that live on long after the sun sets.
Thinking about capturing your own motherhood journey? I’d be honoured to walk with you through it.
