There’s just something about photographing Michaela. From the moment she arrived, she brought this sweet, light-hearted energy that made the whole session feel like hanging out with an old friend - one who also happens to look like she just stepped out of a festival lineup poster.
Michaela had her hair and makeup done by the incredibly talented Lisa Wicks (who’s now retired from the HMUA world, but was working her magic back then), and she came fully styled with a vision inspired by Coachella. Her hair was braided into two perfect plaits, and she had silver dots painted beside her eyes - like little stars catching the light. It was such a fun, playful detail that gave a nod to her creative spirit and carefree nature.
Her outfit? A short white floral dress paired with short cowgirl boots - equal parts flirty and fierce. We wandered through a paddock as the sun dipped below the hills, golden light spilling across the field and lighting her up from behind. The whole scene felt warm, glowing, and full of life - just like Michaela.
She brought her giggly, girly personality to every pose, twirling, laughing, and embracing the moment without holding back. Between shots, we talked about why these beauty sessions matter - how they’re not just about pretty photos, but about celebrating who you are, right now. Owning your light, your body, your energy.
And Michaela owned it.

Sessions like this are why I love what I do. It’s not about fitting into a mould - it’s about breaking out of one. Michaela reminded me of that. That joy is powerful. That femininity can be both soft and strong. And that there’s nothing more beautiful than a woman feeling completely herself.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to do something just for you - consider this it.
You are worth celebrating.
