Jen & Christian: A Laid-Back Love Story Among the Macadamias

Jen and Christian’s wedding day was one of those celebrations that just felt right from beginning to end -intimate, meaningful, and set in a place they called home.

With only 21 of their closest friends and family gathered in their own backyard, Jen and Christian exchanged vows with a stunning view of the mountain ranges in the distance. The relaxed atmosphere was everything they hoped for - quiet, peaceful, and full of love. They styled everything themselves in a rustic country theme that felt so personal, from the handmade bouquets to the casual yet thoughtful decor.

Jen wore a beautiful lace boho gown from JAASE, with her two bridesmaids in flowing blue and white floral dresses from Tree of Life. The whole vibe was soft, free-spirited, and effortlessly beautiful - just like Jen herself. Christian kept things simple in a navy shirt and dress pants, and their bridal party matched the mood with light shirts and relaxed smiles.

After their heartfelt ceremony, we wandered the macadamia farm where they were living at the time for their portraits - tucked among the trees and golden afternoon light. The calm of the orchard and the laughter between them made for some of my favourite frames of the day.

As the sun began to dip behind the hills, we snuck away for a final set of portraits at Point Pure Lookout in Glastonbury. With wide skies above them and nothing but peaceful silence around, it was the perfect way to close out the day.

Jen and Christian have been together for nearly three decades - meeting at the Gympie Show, falling in love shortly after, and building a life side-by-side ever since. They’ve raised a beautiful family, shared countless date nights and movie nights, and now spend their days soaking up every moment with their grandson Lucian, who was a special part of the day.

This wedding wasn’t about grandeur or fanfare - it was about connection, commitment, and the kind of love that grows stronger with time. And honestly, that made it one of the most beautiful days to witness.
