Craig & Shirley celebrated their marriage in beautiful, sunny Rainbow Beach, Queensland on Saturday, May 25, 2019. From start to finish, their day was full of love, laughter, and a refreshing sense of ease that perfectly reflected who they are as a couple.

Instead of following the traditional wedding timeline, they decided to mix things up by sharing a First Look and doing their portrait session in the morning—before the ceremony. It was my first time photographing a First Look, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it! There’s something so special about capturing that raw, intimate moment between two people before the whirlwind of the day truly begins.

A Relaxed Start to a Beautiful Day

Craig & Shirley are such a laid-back, fun-loving couple, and their approach to the day reflected that perfectly. With no pre-wedding nerves in sight, we had an amazing time wandering through the golden sand dunes, rugged coastal cliffs, and lush bushland that make Rainbow Beach so breathtaking. The morning light added a beautiful softness to their portraits, and watching them soak in those quiet moments together was a reminder of what weddings are truly about—love, connection, and celebrating the journey ahead.

Their ceremony, held later in the day, was just as joyful and heartfelt. Surrounded by friends and family, they exchanged vows with the ocean breeze gently rolling in, adding to the magic of the moment.

I’m a sucker for couples in love, and witnessing the deep admiration and laughter-filled bond that Craig and Shirley share was such a privilege. I’m beyond grateful to have been chosen as their photographer, capturing the start of their next adventure together.
