Alec & Rebecca | Engagement Session

Updated: Apr 16

I met Alec and Rebecca on a golden April afternoon in 2022 for their engagement session at a stunning private property in Chatsworth. The sun was low, the paddocks were glowing, and we had the whole space to ourselves – it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting.

Alec and Rebecca’s story began online, with their first meeting taking place at Southbank in Brisbane – a place that clearly holds a special spot in their hearts. It was there, on a quiet walk to the very picnic spot where they shared their first kiss, that Alec got down on one knee and surprised Rebecca with the sweetest proposal. I absolutely loved how much meaning and thought they’d tucked into that moment.

For their engagement session, they brought along two outfits – something I always love because it adds a bit of variety and helps tell more of the couple’s story. Rebecca’s first outfit was a gorgeous periwinkle blue dress paired with white sandshoes, and Alec coordinated perfectly in a light blue tee and open button-up shirt. They looked so sweet and relaxed against the backdrop of that golden, late-afternoon light.

As the sun dipped lower, they changed into their second looks – Rebecca in a black dress scattered with tiny red roses and Alec in a dark red shirt to match. I always appreciate couples who put thought into their styling, and these two nailed it without overthinking. Their second outfit matched the mood of blue hour beautifully, with soft skies and the last glow of sunset lighting them from behind.

Rebecca describes herself as the “funny one” in their relationship, and I can absolutely confirm she kept us all smiling the entire session. Alec, more quiet and steady, had this warm, calm presence that balanced her so well. Together, they were affectionate, playful, and completely themselves – exactly what I hope for in every session. They told me their favourite things about each other include Bec’s sense of humour and coffee chats, and Alec’s cooking and love of documentaries – and somehow, those little things really shone through during our time together.

It’s always an honour to capture such a special time in a couple’s journey, and Alec and Rebecca made it such a joy. I can’t wait to see what’s next for these two – something tells me their wedding day will be just as full of light and laughter.
